Program Learning Outcomes: MSc. Biotechnology

PLO1:

Students of MSc. Biotechnology will employ and implement their knowledge base in premium processes and applications which will be profoundly influenced or utilized for existing paradigm of agriculture, industry, healthcare and restoration of degraded environment to provide sustainable competitive edge to present society.

PLO2:

Students will exhibit contemporary knowledge in Biotechnology and will be eligible for doing jobs in various sectors of pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry.

PLO3:

Students will be able design, conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data for investigating problems in Biotechnology and allied fields. 

PLO4:  

Students will be able to understand the potentials and impact of biotechnological innovations on environment and their implementation for finding sustainable solution to issues pertaining to environment, health sector, agriculture, etc. 

PLO 5:

Students will successfully compete for employment in biotechnology based research and development sectors, industrial sectors and teaching as well as pursue higher studies.

PLO 6:

Students will apply knowledge and skill procured in the design and development of solutions for problems relevant to modern biology to cater the needs of biotechnology industries. 

PLO 7:

Students will become professionally trained in the area of molecular biology, recombinant DNA technology, microbial technology, animal and plant tissue culture with knowledge in supported fields like bioinformatics, biostatistics, etc.

 PLO 8:

Students will excel in the research related to biotechnology and quality control of biologicals. 

PLO 9:

Students will demonstrate highest standards of critical, interpersonal and communication skills as well as a commitment to life-long learning.

PLO 10:

Students will show high competence and multidisciplinary project experience within selected topics related to biotechnology and ability to contribute in a multidisciplinary team.

PLO 11:

Students will be able to design new biotechnological products or processes by applying knowledge of different disciplines of biotechnology in an integrated manner.

PLO 12:

Students will acquire skill development in various fields of biotechnology in addition to research training which make students to plan, design, execute, analyze and solve industrial and research associated problems.

 

Program Learning Outcomes: MSc. Microbiology

PLO1:

The student will be equipped to take up a suitable position in academia or industry and will be equipped to pursue a career in research if so desired.

 

PLO2:

The student acquires knowledge and understanding of the microbiology concepts as applicable to diverse areas such as medical, industrial, environment, genetics, agriculture, food and others.

PLO3:

The student will be competent enough to use microbiology knowledge and skills to analyze problems involving microbes, articulate these with peers/ team members/ other stake holders and undertake remedial measures/ studies etc.

PLO4:

The student will be competent enough to a broader perspective of the discipline of Microbiology to enable her to identify challenging societal problems and plan her professional career to develop innovative solutions for such problems.

PLO5:

The student will acquire basic understanding in the diverse fields of traditional and modern Microbiology with emphasis on industrial applications and product developments.

PLO 6:

The student will comprehend and integrate theoretical and practical skills in basic and applied disciplines of Microbiology.

PLO 7:

The student will be able to independently carry out a complete scientific work process, including the understanding of theoretical background, hypothesis generation, collection and analysis of data and interpretation and presentation of results.

PLO 8:

The student will have high competence and multidisciplinary project experience within selected topics related to microbiology and ability to contribute in a multidisciplinary team.

PLO 9:

The student will have state of art knowledge about various methodological and analytic approaches that are used within the specialization

PLO 10:

The student with Masters in Microbiology will be able to explain the theoretical basis of the tools, technologies and demonstrate practical skills in the use of tools, technologies and methods common to microbiology.

PLO 11:

The student will evaluate and respond to a complex question or challenge, using perspectives and scholarship drawn from microbiology and from cognate and non-cognate fields.

PLO 12:

The students will communicate science as assessed by their ability to communicate with both specialist and non-specialist audiences using genres commonly used in microbiology.
