Course Outcomes

Learning and teaching strategies

Assessment Strategies

Upon completion of the course the learners will:

CO 23: Establish the sampling methods for data collection/generation and describe the characteristics of the population used in a study.

CO 24: Calculate and analyze the different statistical parameters like central tendency, dispersion, skewness and kurtosis for numerical data generated from experiments in laboratory.

CO 25: Design a research-based study, formulate nulls hypothesis, do computations using appropriate statistical techniques, interpret the findings of an experimental study and will justify the results obtained at a particular level of significance.

CO 26: Apply the knowledge of different nucleotide and protein databases in solving problems related to bioinformatics.

CO 27: Compare different protein databases to search for function of an unknown protein and evaluate annotations.

CO 28: Evaluate and use sequence similarity searching tools to match the DNA/Protein sequence of an unknown isolate to reference databases available.

CO 29: Infer the phylogenetic relationships between different organisms by comparing their DNA/Protein sequences.
