Upon completion of the course the learner will: CO 1: Understand the concepts of electrolytes and electrolytic dissociation, pH and its biological significance, buffers, Henderson -Hasselbalch equation, biological buffer systems and their importance. CO2: Understand the laws of thermodynamics and apply them to biological systems and various biochemical studies and reactions. CO3: Classify amino acids on the basis of functional groups and apply them in building hierarchy of protein structure. CO4: Classify carbohydrates and lipids on the basis of structure and function. CO5: List the biological functions of various biomolecules CO6: Understand the mechanism of enzyme action |
