Objective: 

This course will impart skills to isolate and identify typical flora from various body areas, examine their metabolic capacity, and determine antibiotic susceptibility of the bacteria as well as the antiseptic and disinfection qualities of different reagents.

  1. Isolation of Normal Flora from Skin
  2. Isolation of enteric bacteria
  3. Identify isolated bacteria on the basis of staining and Morphological characters
  4. Study of Biochemical characters of isolated bacteria like IMVIC, TSI etc
  5. Normal Flora of Oral Cavity: Dental carries susceptibility test
  6. Evaluation of Ethanol as Skin Antiseptic
  7. Antibiotic sensitivity test by disc diffusion method
