Objective: 

The course will impart practical skills for isolation and identification of industrially important microbes and the product formation through fermentation. Additionally, the students will be competent in gene cloning methods, recombinant DNA practical applications, and nucleic acid separation and purification at the R&D level.

  1. Bacterial Growth Curve
  2. Isolation of industrially important microorganism from natural resource.
  3. Study different parts of fermenter
  4. Determination of Biomass Yield
  5. Determination of TDT of microorganism
  6. Digestion of DNA using restriction enzymes and analysis by agarose gel electrophoresis.
  7. Ligation of DNA fragments
  8. Isolation of plasmid DNA
