Upon completion of the course the learner will:

CO 42: Understand the basic principles of genetics

CO 43: Differentiate, compare and contrast different types of gene interactions and  predict the outcomes of these interactions.

CO 44: Analyse the different types sex determination mechanisms and the role of sex linked genes in inheritance.

CO 45: Apply the knowledge of linkage and recombination mechanisms to construct genetic maps.

CO 46: Evaluate the molecular basis of mutations and repair mechanisms.

CO 47: Evaluate the processes that cause changes in the kind and amount of genetic variation in populations.

CO 48: Understand extrachromosomal inheritance and Hardy Weinberg equilibrium.
