Guest Lecture on Nanotechnology- A milestone towards medicine

Department of Biotechnology organised a Guest Lecture on “Nanotechnology- A milestone towards medicine” delivered by Dr. Surendra Nimesh on 13 January 2014.

Dr. Nimesh is a distinguished Scientist and currently working at Department of Biotechnology, Central University, Kishangarh.

According to Dr. Surendra, Nanoparicles have immense scope in the field of medicine. He talked about nanosphere, nanocapsule and various types of nanoparticles. His lecture emphasized on preparation of polymeric nanoparticles, advantages of nanoparticles, various levels of targeting, target delivery to cancer cells and different tools and techniques used in nanotechnology. He vividly described that the priority areas of nanotechnology like tumor targeted delivery; imaging, vaccination and cancer gene therapy were discussed. The achievements by Indian pharma industry using nanodevices were also showcased in the lecture. It was a knowledgeable and interesting lecture and students were highly motivated to work in this field.
